I don't give my books overall ratings because I do enough grading at work but sometimes books will get a Kleenex rating. This means you might need to have some tissues handy. A five Kleenex box rating is the highest and usually indicates a character death (Beth in
Little Women was a five Kleenex box). Some books also get a "Smack up the Head" rating (think Gibbs and DiNozzo in NCIS) for one or more character being stupid.
